Be Grateful and Carry On!

Sometimes I feel like such a hypocrite because I still struggle, because I still stumble and fall. When this happens I don’t always turn to the techniques that I know provide me relief and raise my vibration – like a simple grateful list.

“It is a painful thing to look at your own trouble and know that you yourself and no one else has made it.” – Sophocles

And then, I remember my hopes for this blog are to bring people together who also stumble and fall and need the same gentle reminder that I did to get back up and carry on.

So this week, I am taking personal responsibility and setting reasonable goals for myself. If you are feeling the same way, come along with me and lets start small. Lets start back at the beginning with a list of things we are grateful for.

My grateful list:

  1. By all accounts, this little baby that I still have in my belly is healthy and growing strong.
  2. My body has remained healthy and strong through pregnancy.
  3. I have found new resources that have made me actually feel a lot better about the labor process.
  4. I have amazing friends and family that have been incredibly supportive and excited for me and the birth of this new little boy. They have provided me with lots of great advice and I am sure will have much, much more.
  5. We have an awesome community/neighborhood to raise our son in.
  6. There is delicious, clean, natural water that comes right into our home!
  7. I have the ability to make my own decisions and I have the awareness to act on that.
  8. I am pregnant during the summer time; no snow or ice to worry about!
  9. We have so many people that have given us things we will need to take care of our new addition.
  10. I am able to be home for now to take care of our home and my family.

Being grateful is a daily practice. I am setting my intentions for the week to make a list each morning to start out on the right foot. I may have fallen down but this is me – getting back up – lets carry on!

“What if you gave someone a gift, and they neglected to thank you for it – would you be likely to give them another? Life is the same way. In order to attract more of the blessings that life has to offer, you must truly appreciate what you already have.” – Ralph Marston
